Floral Friday

The last little bits of summer are starting to fade.  Fall is moving in with it's warm colors and cooler days.  Here is one last summer flower.  See you next summer little flowers.  I need to go out and visit with some of fall's floral offerings.  Have a wonderful weekend I'll talk to you again soon.

Clean and simple

When I make a card to give to a bride and groom I try to coordinate it with their wedding colors.  (I know.. I'm just weird that way)  The invitation for this wedding was very colorful with touches of bling through out.  The Close to my heart cricut cartridge "art philosophy" helped make this card quick and easy.  The large medallion shape was perfect for my stamp and left just the right spaces for some sparkle.  I hope you've got something to celebrate today.  I'll talk to you again soon.

September... the new June??

I know that June is traditionally the month for weddings, but we have 3 to go to this month, something unusual for us.  This is the card for the first wedding.  A sweet couple starting out with so much love for each other and thinking of others all the time.

I used another older Close to my heart stamp set and the colors sweet leaf and blush with just a touch of grey wool.  Wishing you love today.  I'll talk to you again soon.

Happy Fall!

The first weekend of a new season.  It's hard to believe yesterday was the first day of autumn, State fair is almost over and balloon fiesta is just around the corner.  This morning I noticed the tree in the neighbor's yard had some fall colors started.  Doesn't it feel like this year is flying by?

For this quick little card I used a couple of older retired Close to My heart stamp sets with a scrap of newer background paper.  I like to go back and revisit some of my old favorites now and then and use them again just for fun.  I hope you have some fun this weekend.  I'll talk to you again soon.

Floral Friday

Another Friday, I know I'm looking forward to the weekend and some fun activities, I hope you are too.  The weather is changing here I think those fall colors are right around the corner.  But meanwhile, the trees on the playground had a few blooming ideas this week and I caught a couple of minutes of bright blue sky before the clouds moved in again.  Have a wonderful weekend and I'll talk to you again soon.

ME? I won!?

I am finding it hard to believe but, it actually happened!  I won the top spot at the Heart 2 Heart challenge blog this month.  I am beyond thrilled and completely in shock.  If you've never visited the blog you should hop on over there right now.  They have some great inspirational challenges and the Design team always does a wonderful job of interpreting the challenge to give even more inspiration and you get to use the great Close to my heart products.

My Friend retired

My friend Jo retired, a year ago... That's when I started this project.  It was supposed to be a banner that I was going to hang over her cake at her reception.  But, as some projects do, this one began to evolve into something more than a simple banner and the more I worked on it, the less it got finished.  Have you ever had that happen to you?  You see the problem was, Jo is very special to me and I wanted this project to reflect all the fun and thoughtful times we have spent together.  By now, a banner is kind of unnecessary, but I had all this work done so I decided to turn it into a mini album (not so mini after all).  One side of the banner/book spells out the word retirement, the opposite side of each ban-nett? I don't know, what you'd call the individual flags of a banner!? Anyway, the opposite side has a short poem that goes along with the corresponding letter.  I added lots of charms and glitter, buttons and beads.  So this is the result.  Now I need to get it into the mail before another year goes by.

Floral Friday

You know it's been a crazy week when you get to Friday and realize you haven't done one creative thing all week long (except for fixing meals and your hair).  Thank goodness for God's creation, He leaves inspiration all around us if we'll just look.  Wishing you an inspirational weekend, I know I'm hoping to get into the workroom for some creative therapy over the next couple of days.  I'll talk to you again soon.
