Holiday Cards 2010

A bright and cheery holiday card.  This is one of a very few we'll be passing out this year.  I just ran out of time.
This one is a little more elegant, but with lots of sparkly glitter.  So much left to do and so little time to do it!! Guess I'm off to get busy.  Talk to you again soon.

Count down to Christmas!

Finished up these 12 days of Christmas count down calendars for my library volunteers.  They were a big hit and fun to put together as well.

The little tins have magnets on the back so the shape of the countdown can be rearranged every year.  I used lots of glitter and bling.  Some of the days are filled with candy for sharing and others have tiny ornaments and the last day is a cute little Christmas bracelet for my wonderful workers.

I'm counting the days till I'll be spending time with family and friends this holiday season.  I hope your days are filled with love, hope, joy and peace.  I'll talk to you soon.

Christmas mini's

Mini tags that is.  These are little 2x2 gift cards with coordinating envelopes.  I'm in a little bit of a retro color kick.  There's lots of glitter and bling as well.  I had some left over mini flower picks so I pull them apart and used bits and pieces as embellishments.

The stamp set is from Close to My Heart.  I used Tulip red and an old robin egg blue stamp pad and papers.  I'm trying to be frugal and use up some of my older scraps.  I'm also trying to get a jump on the season.  So far this is all I've accomplished... Some jump right?  Oh well, I'll keep trying.
Have a great week and I'll talk to you again soon.

stitching up some cards

I stitched up a set of cards and used Close to My Heart's TLC sentiments set.  Four cards with coordinating envelopes.  Even though I used my sewing machine they took a long time to put together.  But so worth the outcome.

Have a great week, I'll talk to you again soon.

October crafting

Hi Everyone,

Here are a couple of things I've been working on this month. I made several of these cute little favor boxes for my sister-in-law's wedding shower.
Then I got into a box frame of mind:)  These are some spooky treat boxes I made in honor of this month's activities.
I've been working on things for a craft fair later this month so hopefully I can get those photographed soon.
I hope your October is going well, I'll talk to you again soon.

What do you mean it's September!!!

Oh My, where did August go?  I have been busily crafting but have had no time to photograph before things go out the door.  I did get to snap a few quick pics of some of my apron creations.  I have also been doing some stitching, and some beading and some stamping.  Hopefully I can get some of those things photographed this weekend.  Here are some of the aprons, in no particular order.
These were made for the sweet girls who served at my niece's wedding reception this weekend, done in her wedding colors (of course)
A little frilly number modeled by a friend.

Chocolate hearts and polka dot ribbon, what's not to love?  Another kind friend modeled it for me.
There are more but blogger is being difficult with picture uploads tonight so that's all for now maybe more later.  Have a great weekend and I'll talk to you again soon.

New School Year New Staff

It's time to head back to school and once again we are adding new staff members.  I put together some goody baskets filled with a few classroom essentials and then made welcome tags for each one.  Sigh, the summer went so fast this time.  Talk to you again soon!

Think Pink

I made a few goodies to give away at an event.  The color scheme was hot pink and black (My kind of combo!).  First I made a set of cards.  I used CTMH watermelon which is being discontinued.  If you just love this color head over to my CTMH site and place an order before it's all gone!
Then I altered a clipboard, photo clip and pen.
Added a cute little box of candy (of course).
Put it all in a sweet little basket.
Then wrapped it up and tied it with a bow.  I just love putting together stuff like this.  It makes me smile.  Have a great weekend and I'll talk to you again soon.

Stamping fun

Hi Everyone,
Well, my lovely summer break is just about over.  I have had so much fun this summer traveling and crafting and there are so many more things I wanted to accomplish.  Ah well, here are a couple of chalkboard clipboards I made this week.  Notice the chipboard letters at the bottom.  I used our wonderful Close to My Heart chipboard alphabets and stamped them with a variety of Close to My Heart background stamps.  I love the way they turned out!
Last two days of summer freedom.  Going to go get crafty.  I'll talk to you again soon.

I have a few more sets to assemble tonight so back to work for me...
Have a great weekend and I'll talk to you again soon.

Adding Patina

Hi Everyone!
Ok, remember all the napkin sets I was working on?  Well, I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them but I just kept making them.  They were really fun.  Then, this weekend I was talking to a friend and she invited me to share some of my handmade stuff at a fund raiser for the Juvenile Diabetes foundation.  I thought that would be a great place to sell some of my napkin sets as well as some of the aprons and other handmade goodies I've been working on.  I was trying to come up with a cute way to bundle my napkin sets and going back to my inspiration blog (Mish Mash) I wanted to do something similar but inexpensive (I don't have a stash of vintage silverware) but I thought wooden spoons might work.  I found some packages at the local Wal-Mart but they were just a little too... new, and they were all different lengths.  My DH cut them to the same length and sanded them smooth.  But they were still lacking something.

I thought I might try painting them but I wanted people to be able to use them so I thought a tea bath might add a little patina to them.
Wooden spoons float!  I had to weigh them down in the bath.  So I went from plain vanilla spoons to spoons with a suntan!

Now the spoons had a little more color to them and could still be used in the kitchen. I let them dry and stamped cute little tags to add to the bundles.
I'm thinking I sell them for $5.00 a bundle.  Part of the proceeds will go to the JDF.  I know this was a long post thanks for sticking with it to the end.  Email me or leave a comment if you'd like to know more about the JDF event and I'll be happy to send you more information.  It should be a fun evening.  I'll talk to you again soon.
