Finale Friday

At last you say? Yes, this is my last post about the crafts for the baby shower. Today I'm going to share with you the game gifts I made for one of the games we played at the shower. I also made extras to give to all the ladies who helped hostess the shower as a thank you for all their hard work. I made other things too, but I think we'll just move on.
I started by cutting two fabrics into 5 1/2" squares.  Then sewed around the edges leaving an opening in one side for stuffing.  I used fiberfill then inserted a jasmin tea bag that I had added another drop of Jasmin essential oil to.  Inserted it and then covered it with more fiberfill so that the tea bag was sandwiched in between fiberfill.
Finally, I sewed up the opening, (I did it on my sewing machine, ran out of time, normally I would have hand stitched them closed).  Oh well, they still looked cute.  Once they were all filled and stitched closed I stacked them, tied them with ribbon and added a tag.
Hope you enjoyed the shower!  Talk to you soon.

Baby blocks

Hi Everyone!
Here is another baby shower post.  These are the favor boxes I made for the shower.  Inside each one is a decorated tea light.  The attendees who wanted to be notified when Charity goes into labor signed up their email address and took a little box.  When they get the email that she has gone into labor they are supposed to say a prayer and light the candle to celebrate the new life that is coming.  I used my Cricut again to cut out all the boxes and the Design Studio software to weld the letters and numbers into the frames and cut them out all at once.  How did I ever get things done without my Cricut!!!
Have a great day and I'll talk to you soon.

More babyshower crafts!

As part of the decorations we decided we would hang onesies and burp cloths on clothes line around the room. Well, I decided they looked a little plain...
so I appliqued everyone of them with something. I had so much fun with this because I used my Cricut to cut out the fabric. It was awesome, fast and accurate. I ironed them on, sewed buttons on for eyes or deooration and they were done. I got 13 of them done in one afternoon.

Then I used my sewing machine and embroidered the burp cloths along the top and bottom. We wound up draping them over the backs of the chairs.
Well, enough baby shower for today... more tomorrow. Talk to you soon!

Pillowcases and Tags

Hi Everyone,
Here are pictures of the completed pillowcases, I went back through my shower pictures and I can't believe I didn't take any pictues of the food tables! Oh well maybe one of the other hostesses did. But, here are the completed ones after I finished sewing them up. So cute! We looked everywhere for cute and colorful pillowcases. There were none to be found around here. So for 1 1/8 yard of fabric for each one here's what we got.

Now for some tags.

Yes, I know, more baby tags. I'm almost finished with that baby book then I can move on to some other kind of tag!
Have a great day and I'll talk to you soon.

Happy Monday Everyone!

Happy and a little sad. This is the last Monday of my summer break. I start back to work next Monday for a new school year. Always exciting though to think about the possibilities for a new year and how to help and encourage students to grow and expand their horizons.

But, the past couple of weeks have been a hustle and bustle getting ready for sweet Charity and Matt's baby. We had the shower this weekend. It all turned out very cute. As promised I will post some of the projects I worked on for it this week. So, to start, our theme was "Nap Time". The food tables were decorated like small beds, complete with "designer" pillowcases and bedtime story books. The dinning tables where decorated like bedside tables with lamps in the center, more storybooks, colorful buckets of colored pencils and stuffed animals. Since Charity wanted to invited moms and daughters/infants. The colored pencils came in handy for the little ones as well as being used for the games we played. More on that later. Our colors were shades of blue, green and splashes of orange.

These napkins were the inspiration for the colors.

These are the fabrics I found to make the pillowcases to match our color scheme. I think I could become addicted to making pillow cases. They were very easy and turned out so cute! If I would have had more time I could have figured out a pattern myself but I found a great Simplicity pattern so I got it, why recreate the wheel? Right!? I made four pillowcases all together. I'll show you the completed ones tomorrow. So until then, have a great day and I'll talk to you soon.

Oh my goodness, how time flies!

I can't believe it has been over a week since I've been able to post! I have been working on a baby shower and have created several things for decorations and gifts. I can't post any of it now since I don't want the mommy to be to see any of it yet. But, I will soon. I was able to get a couple of cards made. I used the "Day Dream" level 2 paper pack to create both of these cards. I love the whimsical feel of these papers. The first card also uses the June stamp of the month, "Tender Tags" the second card uses the "Adoration" set.

All stamps, papers, inks and buttons are from Close to My Heart. Be sure to visit my CTMH website if you feel like shopping! This is the link dalmanza.myctmh.com

More stamping and creative things to come. Thanks for stopping. I'll talk to you soon.

This summer is just flying I hope yours has been relaxing and rejuvinating! If it's Tuesday that must mean I have some tags to share. Taa Daa...

these are some extras for embellishing cards. I've been trying to use up some of my paper scraps and odd die cuts from my scrap box. I touched them up with some chalk and bling.

Mojo Monday #95

Hi Everyone!

I hope your weekend was great. The conference was every bit as good as we thought it would be. I had a ton of errands to take care of today so I didn't get to work on the Mojo Monday sketch until tonight. But, here it is. I don't know how I'll keep up once school starts again but I'm going to try:) Anyway, here is the actual sketch.

And here is my take on it.

I just had fun with the cute papers from the "Daydream" collection from Close to my heart. The sentiment was from the "Spring" set that came with the "Tickled pink" scrapbooking kit. The cute little bird is from Autumn Leaves "Mindy's Zoo" and I used my CTHM markers and ink pads. This sketch was really fun! Thanks for stopping by to look. I'll talk to you again soon.

More Birthday Cards for the stash

Hi Everyone,

Happy Friday. I hope you all had a great week. I've been busy working on projects can't wait to share them. Here are a couple of birthday cards I got completed this week.

These cute little cupcake stamps are from Stampendous and I used liquid glass (CTMH) on the frosting. Doesn't it look chocolaty!? (mmmm) The papers were from my scrap box.

I used more paper scraps on this one, the balloon stamp is from Fiskars and the sentiment from CTMH. Bling from dollar bins at Michael's.

I'm headed to the Beth Moore Conference this weekend. She is an awesome Christian speaker and the praise and worship is always super. Hope your weekend is wonderful and I'll talk to you soon!

I'm in charge of birthdays!

During the school year it is my job to make sure every staff member's birthday is recognized. This year I am trying to get ahead of the game by making as many birthday cards during the summer break as I can. Here are couple that I was able to get completed this week. We have several male staff members at our school so I am always trying to come up with cards that are suitably "guyish". These two got my husband's seal of approval.

Talk to you soon!
