Better late than never... I suppose

Well, I did make Christmas cards, I just didn't get them sent out.  I ran out of time again. So this year I'm thinking I'll make Happy New Year cards, or maybe by the time I get those done they'll have to be valentine cards.  I'm working on it:)  I thought I'd show you some of my Christmas Cards so you'd know at least I tried.

Materials:  All paper, inks, embossing powder are from CTMH
I was browsing the web and kept coming across a reference to the Zindorf Technique.  When I found her stuff I found one of her non-traditional color Christmas cards.  The colors remind me of the southwest so I had to try her technique.  It made a beautiful card that fools your eye.  If you want to see more of her work you can click on her name here Michelle Zindorf.

I also used the CTMH Wishes book to put together some cute circle cards.

Materials: All paper, ink and stamps and glitter from CTMH
Ribbon from my stash
Bling from Michael's
I hope your Christmas was spectacular and your new year is filled with all the happiness and contentment you can hold.  I'll talk to you again soon.

Good tidings of great joy!

 The little tree is up,

the treat trays for the neighbors are ready,
Presents are wrapped,

I think we're ready.

Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.  For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:10-11

Merry Christmas everyone. From our house to yours we wish you a sweet holiday filled with happiness and blessings.

I'll talk to you again soon.

Birthday card suite

Once again a new month is just a day away and I'm already behind on birthday cards! I worked on these for a while this weekend. But, need to get more done oh, and then there are the Christmas cards and I haven't even thought about presents for this year... How did I get so behind? Part of the problem is I'm waiting for inspiration or for someone or a few someone's to tell me what they are thinking about this year! (Mom) and, where did I put my decorations? Oh man, I guess I better go get busy.

Have a great week and I'll talk to you again soon.

Wow! What happened to November!

I can't believe I let almost a whole month go by without a single post. I'm sure like most of you the month of November was super busy. I hope you got a chance to take a couple of days to rest between all the busy. I started the month and ended last month by spending two days at the local stamp show with my Close to My Heart upline's upline. We had a great time and a few of you came by to see me and stopped to do the make and take. We dressed in "costume" for the first day of the show. That's me, the one in purple.

When I wasn't demonstrating the make and take I did work on the super cute Everyday Celebrations kit from Close to My Heart. It made a ton of cards, a couple of them are shown below.

The kit came with everything you needed including ribbon, brads, ink, papers, cards and envelopes, stamps and other embelishments. They went together quickly.

Well, I'll try to be better and not let a WHOLE MONTH go by with out checking in. Hope everything is good with you and I'll talk to you again soon.

Desktop Birthday Party

My friend had a birthday this week so I threw her a desktop birthday party.  She loves purple (yes just like me) so that was the theme, "purple".  She also likes minitures hence the "miniture" chocolate cake.

We have only worked together for about a year and a half but she is a sweetheart and I hope her birthday was great!  I made her a shades of purple birdhouse with frames on it so it can also be used for some of her favorite photos.

I used a small wooden birdhouse and modge podged it with a variety of purple papers.

It originally had a rope hanger coming out of the top but I removed that and used it to hold flowers and a ribbon.

I used my Cricut and cut several chipboard frames and then stacked them so you could slide pictures in and out of them.  Painted them purple and covered them with glitter, very sparkly.

Have a great Friday and I'll talk to you again soon.

New Mexico Style snow storm

Around here we don't get much snow so when it happens it can be an event, people get sent home early or school gets cancelled.  The nice thing about NM snow, it's usually gone in a few hours.  I took this picture this afternoon from the driveway.  An hour later... gone.

Hope your week has been good so far.  Welcome Friday!  Have a great evening and I'll talk to you again soon.

Balloon Fiesta

The International Balloon Fiesta is a BIG deal here in New Mexico and I am lucky enough to have an amazing view of the field from my back yard.  Here are some pictures I took early Saturday morning while I was comfy and cozy in my pj's and slippers.

Dawn Patrol goes up first to check out the wind currents.

Then as the sun starts coming up over the mountains, you can see all the brightly colored balloon begin to fill up and stand on the field.

Then finally, the mass ascension...

We had a ton of them flying over the neighborhood yesterday morning.  Such a pretty sight.  Have a sweet Sunday and I talk to you again soon.
