I needed more birthday cards this week. I tried a new technique on this one. I'd seen these beautiful crepe paper roses on Danielle Flanders blog, I haven't quite mastered those but I thought I could use my crepe paper and make a ruffle. So I did a quick running stitch along the folded edge of a strip of plain ol' streamer crepe paper then gathered it like I would a regular fabric ruffle. I touched up the edge with a bit of pink Stickle and layered it under a strip of desert sand card stock. Doesn't it look cute peeking out from under that scalloped edge.
